Zappas or Jappas?!!!!

Today’s CDS at Zappas was a pleasurable experience. To be more succinct the pungent smell that hit you, once stepping out of the Keke was no indication of the clean and sanitary conditions we would find. The whole place was clean!!!

After casing the grounds and the surroundings like the litter thieves that we are we found not a spec of dirt in sight, so we settled for the leaves that had fallen on the ground. I dare say that this was the highlight of today, aside from the introduction of the new recruits and the perpetual latecomer, whom I dare not name. To the crew she’s known as Oshsodi, however, that name changed today, to Jappas when she strolled in late after having ventured to Jappas instead of Zappas.

The rest of the day was spent picking up the small fragments of litter on the ground and taking snapshots. Afterwards, we headed back to the LG to get our cards signed.
we enjoy what we do as Youth Corps and if you are not a member of this CDS group...YOU ARE WRONG!!!

Good morning this Morning.

IT WAS FUN!

Some of us (Thursday CDS group Members) woke up today,  been a little sad and some skeptical that we were going to do some cleaning today.

We all got to the Local Government Secretariat early one after the other,  inspite of the rain and decided we start the cleaning before the arrival of Mr. Charles Obiakala (Our Able LI).  We brought out our tools,  wore our protective wears and started with the cleaning of the hall downstairs, after which we proceeded outside,  during which we were commended for our efforts by members of the community and some passers by.
We even caught the attention of the Local Government Chairman as he drove by.  He and his aides stopped by and commended us for our efforts too. He also invited us for a meeting at his office scheduled to hold the following day.

After we were done,  we cleaned up and was addressed by our LI (Local Government Inspector),  he praised our efforts for coming on time,  our work in cleaning the surroundings and he urged us to keep it up.

I must say that,  am happy to be part of the LAGOS ISLAND SANITATION  AND BEAUTIFICATION CDS GROUP,  and we as a group plan to affect our host  community and other communities outside the LG postively in the aspect of inculcating the habit and need for cleanliness before our service year ends.  So Help Us God!

It ended up been fun and we are already looking forward to our next meeting.
